KS2 subjects

Lesson counts are the chapters tagged for any of Years 3 to 6. A chapter often spans two or three years, so a Year 4 child sees a subset of these rather than all of them.

It is a timetable, not a worksheet library

The part parents tend to care about is not the lesson count. You pick a starting year and how many days a week you teach, and the app lays the remaining chapters onto weeks and days. Miss a day and the plan rolls forward rather than leaving you behind. Worksheets print with an answer key, and the same sheet reprints identically so the key still matches the paper in your child's hand.

Preparing for Year 6 SATs

There are timed practice papers for maths arithmetic, maths reasoning, and English grammar and punctuation — see KS2 SATs practice papers. Spelling and Reading are not covered, and that page explains why.

What this is not

It is not a school, not an accredited course, and it does not register your child for any exam. It is a self-paced curriculum you teach at home, built by a homeschooling father for his own two children.

Questions parents ask

Is KS2 content on Sasta Basta free?

Maths is free for good — all 36 KS2 maths lessons, with no account and no card. The whole under-7s tier is free too. The other ten subjects need Premium, which has a 7-day free trial.

Does it follow the National Curriculum?

The spine is the British National Curriculum, continuing through to Cambridge IGCSE for older years. It is not an accredited course and does not enter your child for exams.

Can I print the worksheets?

Yes. Every chapter has a printable worksheet with an answer key, and a button that generates a fresh set of questions on the same topic when you want another sheet.

Does it cover KS2 SATs?

Maths arithmetic, maths reasoning, and English grammar and punctuation. Spelling and Reading are not covered — the spelling paper is dictated aloud by a teacher, and Reading needs unseen texts that have not been written yet.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once installed. It is an installable app and the lessons, worksheets and tests work without a connection.
