A business is never just one person doing everything. Even a small bakery needs someone to bake the bread, someone to sell it to customers, and someone to plan what to bake next and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Three important jobs
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Maker | Produces the good or carries out the service, such as baking the bread |
| Seller | Talks to customers, takes payment and helps people find what they need |
| Manager | Plans ahead, decides what to buy, and makes sure everyone works well together |
A team, not just one person
Imagine a bakery run by only one person. They would have to bake all the bread, serve every customer, order the flour, sweep the floor and count the money — all at the same time! That is why businesses share out the jobs between different people. Each person becomes really good at their own part, and together the whole business runs much better.
Match each job to what that person mainly does:
- Baker
- Bakes the bread and cakes
- Shop assistant
- Serves customers and takes payment
- Manager
- Plans ahead and leads the team
- Delivery driver
- Brings ingredients in and takes orders out
Everyone needs each other
If the baker didn't bake, there would be nothing to sell. If the shop assistant didn't sell, nobody would buy the bread. If the manager didn't plan, the shop might run out of flour. Every job matters, and the whole team relies on each other to do their part well.
